Why Anderson Sturgess?
Referral centres are not all the same. Not all referral centres can offer the following:
Genuine Specialists in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic and spinal surgery, diagnostic imaging and dermatology available to help your pet. Check out the link on the left to learn more about what a true Specialist is.
Because we have Specialists in several disciplines, your pet will have access to a wide range of expertise and experience. So, for example, the 'routine' orthopaedic case which turns out to have an undiagnosed heart condition can be assessed fully prior to contemplating anaesthesia and orthopaedic surgery, minimising the risks to your pet. Or, the cat that has just been hit by a car can have its soft tissue injuries treated by a soft tissue specialist, its orthopaedic injuries treated by an orthopaedic specialist and any internal injuries assessed by a specialist imager and managed by a specialist medic.
Advanced facilities on site including a state of the art surgical suite and CT scanner as well as a wide array of other diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.
Separate cat and dog wards staffed by fully qualified nurses 24 hours/day, 365 days a year. There is always someone keeping an eye on your pet, even at the dead of night and they are backed up by clinicians on-call.
We do not have interns (junior vets) or students and so your initial consultation will be entirely with the clinician who will be in charge of your pet's care. These consultations typically last 1 hour so there is plenty of time for a full assessment of your pet to take place, treatment options to be discussed and for any of your questions to be answered.
Similarly, the surgeon looking after your pet will perform your pet's surgery from first incision to last stitch -we will not delegate the 'routine' parts of your pet's surgery to an intern.
