Alison graduated from the University of Bristol in 1996. After three years in general practice she spent a year as a Junior Clinical Training Scholar (Intern) in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). After a further year in practice she returned to the RVC in 2001 to undertake a three year Senior Clinical Training Scholarship (Residency) in Small Animal Surgery. She stayed at the RVC as a Lecturer in Surgery until 2007 before working as a Soft Tissue Surgeon at a private referral practice in Surrey. Alison joined Anderson Sturgess in April 2008.
Alison became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2005 and is an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Small Animal Practice, a past member of the BSAVA Education committee and she has been Secretary of the Association of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgeons. She has co-edited the second edition of the BSAVA 'Manual of Canine and Feline Wound Management and Reconstruction'. She has published clinical and research papers and has lectured in the UK, USA and Asia.
